CURRENT ISSUES WE MONITOR
Bring Kids Home is concerned with many social issues, policies, and regulations, affecting children. As a public charity we are a non-political organization; our involvement relates solely to the "quality of life" for children.

Major Issues we are currently following:
Travel and Transportation for Children
Airport Policies in regards to the searching and scanning of children. It is our generally position that there is no justification for adults to have their hands on children, except when providing medical care. We are also concerned with long term radiation effects on children, resulting from scanners.
Sex Texting Laws and Arrests of Children
Arrests of children under "sex texting" laws and the number of children entering the jail and prison system. There is a need to punish extreme offenders, but there seems to be a growing trend of punishing the more minor cases.
Surveillance of School Children
The use of cameras, GPS, and other technologies to monitor and track children at school and potentially in the home. There needs to be family friendly and privacy conscious solutions developed.
Vaccines
What is the long term effect of vaccines on children. Are all these inoculations really needed or a cash cow for the Pharma industry. Who owns the body of a child, shouldn't a child be allowed to refuse vaccines at some age. Could cancer and other serious diseases actually be the result of the vaccines?
Media and Missing Children
How the major networks are profiting from cases in the news and have purchased photos of missing children or paid parents of the missing for media appearances. Reporting news regarding missing children is one thing; but funding principal parties and defense attorneys; raises many ethical concerns.
National Statistics in Regards to Children
The release and availability of accurate statistics regarding missing and abused children. There is a need for more efficient, faster, and a more accurate national reporting system.
Obesity and Bullying Policies
How these social issues are being addressed. For example there was a recent case of a school installing cameras to monitor the food plates of children in school cafeterias; a pretty extreme measure.
Online Privacy
How children can be tracked or identified on social networking sites, that indirectly aid child predators. Deeper thought has to be given to these web sites, so that entertainment does not become tools for predators.
School Environment
Some schools are creating a "prison like" feel to public education such as random searches, police dogs, cameras, and excessive drills. There needs to be a balance between security preparation and a positive educational setting. An example, is a lockdown drill that holds children outside in freezing temperatures for two hours; whereas other schools complete the drill in thirty minutes.
Sexual Offenders Interstate Travel
The ability of offenders to travel to different states and lag in updating their new address in the offender registry. This is also a concern of licensing of teachers and other professionals who can pass background checks by changing states.
Forced Child Labor
Is the global economy an excuse for expanding the use of forced child labor in developing countries? Should product labels indicate products that are being manufactured by children under eighteen years old?
Child Sex Trade
There appears to be a growing trend of children sold into these sex rings. We need more information and more media coverage of this underground economy which could be a much bigger problem then is being portrayed.
